Is it safe to take a sauna/steam bath?

Is it safe to take a sauna/steam bath?
They say that going to sauna or steam can lower your blood pressure. Is it true? Currently my bloodpressure has increased to 130/80. It used to be 120/80
Answer:
130/80 is still normal, but depending on your age. If you are 30+ years of age, that would be alright. If you are below 30, you a high blood but not hypertensive yet. Going to sauna is still tolerable and could lower your blood pressure. But if you are hypertensive, that is 140/90 and up, then it can add more pressure and shoot up to hypertensive level which would eventually end up in stroke. Yes it is for most people but I think that you may not be suited for this. Your body probably do not react well to high temperature. Could it be possible that you are doing it too frequently or at a very long period?Try to cut down on it a little until your body becomes used too it. This happened to my blood pressure too. But after a few more times, it is now ok.I hope this helps.:)
Steam bathing contributes to a brighter, healthier outlook, increased blood circulation, metabolism and provides a haven from mental and physical stress. Steamist steam baths will enhance the quality of life for both you and your family each and every day.
