Why would a doctor be any different than any other person?Consensual means you willingly participated in the act. The fact that you are also his/her patient is irrelevant (at least it should be). Doctor/patient relationship only refers to the patient's medical information and does not extend to who he is sleeping with...Would you not date your accountant, lawyer, maid, postman, grocery clerk or unemployed neighbor? What does someone's occupation have to do with sex?(except maybe if you are a member of the CIA and sleeping with Al Kaida officers...)

It is ethically wrong, and if found out, the Physician can lose his license to practice medicine forever. It doesn't matter if it's consensual or not. A patient would have to be discharged from the practice for one year before being able to have sex with the Doc. This happened in the practice I worked in for 23 yrs, and the Physician has lost his license forever. Hence, everyone at the Clinic lost our jobs as well. This was also a consensual situation. ~~~~

Not only is it wrong but it is illegal. If the doctor is interested in seeing a patient they should terminate the professional relationship and then make an open invitation that they would like to see them socially. The doctor in question should not hound nor use private information to contact the person (mediacl files have address, phone number etc.) It should be just a case of here is my private number give me a call if interested. But it is most concerning if the doctor is dealing with mental health issues. The doctor knows the person's weakness and knows what buttons to push. Especially dangerous if the person is battling any type of drug depenancy as the doctor could abuse the relationship by becoming a dealer of sorts.Any good doctor would never take a professional relationship to a social one. He risks being sued and losing his liscense.
