Is femoral artery pulse/inguinal area usually strong? Palpable?

...that is, in the normal healthy adult?
Answer:
Yes. They are harder to find in the obese patient, or in those with vascular disease.Everybody is a little bit different, and you do have to get pretty personal to find those pulses.(It's also a great site to get an arterial line into if you can't get a radial pulse. Dirty, but useful in an emergency)
Yes that is normal. It is one of the pulse points of the body, and it is also the pressure point one would use to control bleeding of the leg. It is a very large artery. Also, It is typically more noticeable when you are in good shape because of the muscles in your leg pressing on the artery. Notice a body builder and how their blood vessels seem to be bursting from their body? Just a side note. I suppose that wasn't the most thorogh answer I could have given... but yeah, nothing to worry about.
yes, it is palpable but sometimes difficult to find. Not as strong as other pulse sites in the body though.
Yes, in fact it is the largest commonly directly palpable artery in the body. (However, in some very thin people with lax abdomens, the aorta can sometimes be palpated).
