is it okay (safe) to take expired dayquil?

i have some dayquil and i was about to take it when i noticed it expired in 10/05. is it still okay though? what would happen if i were to use it? (i didn't though)
Answer:
I don't think it would hurt you. But the active ingredients will lose their potency, so I don't think it would help much either.Buy a new bottle.
use it , and you will make more dumb questions like this one
You really don't need that crap. It will hurt you with a good date on it, but later in life.
A year over the expiration is the limit on medications, it will not hurt you but it has lost potency. If you have nothing else use it.
do it
It's okay to use - trust me!
Doctors don't recommend taking any pharmacutical, prescription or over the counter that is expired. The consequences of taking the drug could be minimal, or worst case scenario, severe.
