Is Hydroegn Peroxide a miracule cure for cancer?

Hey guys. Im a biology student and am using H2O2 on an experiment. I have done some reading on Hydrogen Peroxide, and some writers are certain that Hydrogen Peroxide can cure a variety of ailments, including cancer. It seems this is a controversial opinion, and am seeking views and opinons of some science folk in here.If possible can you explain to me the exact science behind these arguments, e.g. how at a molecular level H2O2 cures cancer? Does it bind to it etc... Also if anybody know precisely how it is produced in the body. I believe it is a harmful byproduct of respiration. Some say that by starving the cancer cells of oxygen, they will die - but wont the entire body be starved also, and subsequently - die. Please advise if you have knowledge on this. Thanks
Answer:
Hydrogen peroxide will not cure cancer. I wish it did as I really like my patients and it seems like the nicest ones die the fastest. Anytime there is a new treatment that will cure our patients, we docs in the field rush to hear about it. One time I was in a lecture hall that was so crowded about a new drug (Gleevac) that the fire marshal kicked most of us out!So, please don't believe all the conspiracy theories about cancer medicine. Cancer is not just one disease, just as "fever" is not a disease. Lots of things cause fever, like pneumonia, or a cold, or the flu. In the same way, there are lots of different types of cancers. There are even different types of lung cancer or leukemia, etc. Each type of cancer seems to be caused by certain types of changes (mutations) in one cell that then starts growing and dividing and doesn't stop. The cell forgets that it is a lung cell, or a stomach cell, and starts spreading to other places in the body where it continues to grow until it has taken over the body. Cancer cells seem to start by genetic change or changes that make the cell turn on and make it hard to turn the cell "off". Sometimes the off switch is broken. Sometimes the on switch finds a way to get by the off switch. New cancer treatments are being developed to try to identify these switches and make them work right. It is a very exciting time to be involved in this work. If you are interested, learn everything you can and go into cancer research via biology, medicine, medicinal chemistry, or structural biology. good luck.
I ca'nt answer any of your questions, but I thought you may be interested to know that I use it on my horses hooves. I pour a little on to the frog (the underneath part) to sterilize and clean it. Sometimes it gets infected and this clears it up
H2O2 is basically like an astringent. it reacts to bacteria and destroys. cancer is not neccessarily a bacteria. it could not possibly attack or bind to anything like that. it won't make it past the stomach anyway plus it is only safe to use in the mouth or outer skin. H2O2 will continue to eat at tissue is left on, this is what I am assuming you mean. but you could never get it through the digestive system for the desired anti-cancer effect, plus it is not meant to be consumed!! it's great to gargle mixed with warm salt water and lysterine, it helps due to the different cases of sore throats.
Gosh, let's just think about this for a minute. Do you REALLY think we'd allow thousands of people to suffer and die from cancer, if all it took to miraculously cure them was a forty-nine cent bottle of hydrogen peroxide?Cancer is a complicated collection of diseases. Could H2O2 kill a cancer cell? Sure. So will H2O, in a test tube. It's getting something to kill cancer cells in vivo (in the living body) without killing the non-cancer cells that's the tricky part. It's what researchers are trying to discover. If this interests you, become a scientist and study it. Maybe there is something to it - but it certainly is not at a stage where it can be of use clinically.
