Is death imminent when one has several blood clots in both lungs?

Serious answers only please. I know someone who has this from her previous surgery.
Answer:
Several blood clots in both lungs is a serous condition. It can cause pulmonary embolism. There is medicine called anticoagulant (heparin) to dissolved the clot. Few other medicine are also available to dissolve the clot. You need to check website of Medscape.com and check for blood clot. It is not always fatal but it is very serious condition. I am sure you will get enough information on medscape. Hope you will feel better with my answer.
Not necessarily imminemt, but obviously it is very serious and needs treatment. The doctors will know far more about her treatment than anybody on here.
You can live with one lung, so I believe an operation can keep the body going. Do you know we have a spiritual body too?
I may err, but I believe the condition is known as phlebitis?
No, if you are feeling reasonably well with several blood clots in both lungs, also known as multiple pulmonary emboli (or if in hospital, if your vital signs are stable) then anticoagulation with heparin initally and then warfarin is fine. In fact, that is the standard treatment for patients with DVT (deep vein thrombosis) or pulmonary emboli (PE). If your condition were to deteriorate, then you may receive thrombolysis with a tissue plasminogen activator but this is risky and would not be offered unless death were imminent (without urgent treatment). Try to relax, your treatment sounds fine to me
Pulmonary embolism is a grave diagnosis and if not provided immediate intervention by capable professionals does result in a high incidence for mortality.
