Is distribution of a schedule 2 controlled substance more serious than the distribution of a schedule 4?
Answer:
Yes. Schedule 2 class drugs have to be accounted for. There is a book that the pharmacist must log info in that states the prescription, amount, date, and other important information. They are also locked up and only the pharmacist has access to them.
I'd say yes Schedule II 鈥?The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse. 鈥?The drug or other substance has a currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States or a currently accepted medical use with severe restrictions. 鈥?Abuse of the drug or other substance may lead to severe psychological or physical dependence. 鈥?Examples of Schedule II substances include morphine, phencyclidine (PCP), cocaine, methadone, and methamphetamine. Schedule IV 鈥?The drug or other substance has a low potential for abuse relative to the drugs or other substances in Schedule III. 鈥?The drug or other substance has a currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States. 鈥?Abuse of the drug or other substance may lead to limited physical dependence or psychological dependence relative to the drugs or other substances in Schedule III. 鈥?Examples of drugs included in schedule IV are Darvon庐, Talwin庐, Equanil庐, Valium庐, and Xanax庐. Less chance of abuse means less chance of punishment. This site also has a list of drugs that are on the schedules
